Is GTA 6 Coming to Nintendo Switch?

No. But read on anyway.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is still a ways away at this time of writing, but that hasn’t stopped there from being plenty of speculation. When exactly will it come to PC? Are the events in the trailer in a specific order? How will Rockstar emotionally destroy us this time? And, apparently, there are people wondering if GTA 6 will also be coming to the Nintendo Switch, as wild as that may seem. So, is it?

No. GTA 6 is not coming to Nintendo Switch. It’s only been announced for PS5 and Xbox Series. It’s not coming to PS4 or Xbox One either.

Regardless, it would be an absolute miracle in technology and a genuine stride forward in human evolution for a Switch version to happen. Seriously, it would feel like the splitting of the atom. Landing on the moon. The invention of velcro. If you tried to put in the cartridge, God would probably laugh before your Switch explodes in a hail of brimstone.

Not only is GTA 6 not coming to Switch, but there’s a very high chance the Switch won’t even be relevant by the time the game comes out. The long-rumoured Switch 2 is more than likely to release by 2025 and it may bring the hardware up to speed with something like the Steam Deck, but even then we doubt GTA 6 on the Switch 2 will happen, as GTA 5 isn’t on the current Switch yet for one reason or another. The only GTA we have on the Switch is the controversial Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.

Really, the only feasible way to potentially see GTA 6 on anything Nintendo will probably be via cloud streaming, as it looks to be a game that pushes the technical envelope and that isn’t something that Nintendo has as a priority. Never say never, except for twice just then. GTA 6 will never ever come to Switch and probably not even its successor, and if it does we will give out our weight in Shark Cards.

About Grand Theft Auto 6

Grand Theft Auto 6 (despite all the leaks) is still being kept fairly under wraps. The broad strokes are that you’re playing as partners in love and in crime called Lucia and Jason, and you’re returning to Vice City for the first time since the days of the PlayStation 2.

Beyond that, all we can do is speculate about Grand Theft Auto 6. You can rest assured there will be an open world, cars, and guns, as well as a few absolute nutbags, but beyond that your guess is as good as the rest of the people who don’t work at Rockstar.
