Ever heard of a little game called Grand Theft Auto 6? Since it was announced with a record-breaking reveal trailer, it’s felt like it’s been impossible to ignore the headlines generated from about 90 seconds of footage. One of the biggest questions brought up by it was whether or not GTA 6 will be coming to Steam in the future.
While not announced, Grand Theft Auto 6 has a 99.99% chance of coming to Steam after debuting on PS5 and Xbox Series. GTA 5 is one of the most popular games on Steam and Rockstar would really be quite daft to miss out on that money. However, Red Dead Redemption 2 originally launched through the Rockstar Games Launcher in 2019 before coming to Steam a month later, so we may see the same being the case here with Rockstar looking to get a quick bump in earnings before sharing any of it with Steam.
And if you’re wondering when GTA 6 is coming to PC generally, expect it come out in 2026. Red Dead Redemption 2 came to PC a year after only being on consoles so it should be something similar for GTA.
It’s still curious that Rockstar isn’t releasing games simultaneously on PC along with consoles, though. It’s not really clear why this is, because it doesn’t seem to be a result of an exclusivity deal. It might be because they’re looking to basically have two super hyped launches at different times, as unlike some games Rockstar probably don’t need to sell on every platform to have a successful launch.

Grand Theft Auto 6 will be the first brand new GTA game since 2013 and the first return to Vice City (Florida) since 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Players will take the roles of Jason and Lucia, a young couple who seem to have turned to a life of crime for reasons not yet known – maybe it’s fun for them. We don’t know a great deal about Grand Theft Auto 6 beyond that, but we will definitely be robbing cars and shooting guns.
