What started as a spin-off for the Forza Motorsport series has five games under its name now, setting the bar higher each time. And given the success of its latest installment, fans are highly anticipating Forza Horizon 6.

When Is Forza Horizon 6 Coming Out?
Unfortunately, there’s no official announcement regarding Forza Horizon 6’s release date. It also hasn’t been confirmed if development for Forza Horizon 6 has started in the first place. The developers of the previous installments, Playground Games, are working on a new Fable game, so there’s a high chance they’re focusing on that for now.
Furthermore, Forza Horizon 5 recently received an expansion, which means there’s a possibility they don’t want to leave the fifth installment in legacy mode just yet. But since Forza Horizon games tend to release 2-3 years between each other, we might see Forza Horizon 6 by 2024 at the absolute earliest.
However, Forza fans aren’t going to go completely wanting, as Forza Motorsport is expected to launch by late 2023.
Where Could Forza Horizon 6 Take Place?
Currently, no one has confirmed where Forza Horizon 6 will take place. The Forza Horizon series has always been famous for its diverse locations, allowing you to race and explore different places worldwide. While the next game’s location is unknown, there are plenty of speculations about where Forza Horizon 6 will take you.
Rumor has it that Forza Horizon 6 will take place in Japan. This would be a fantastic setting for a Forza Horizon game, as Japan has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Do note this hasn’t been confirmed yet, so Forza Horizon 6’s location is subject to change.
What Platforms Could Forza Horizon 6 Be On?
Since Forza is a Microsoft-owned franchise, Forza Horizon 6 will likely be available on Xbox Series X & S and PC, and it will be coming day one via Game Pass.
Every Forza Horizon game has only been released on Xbox and Windows, so there’s little to no chance Forza Horizon 6 will be available on other consoles like the PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch.
Who Could Develop Forza Horizon 6?
Most likely, Playground Games will develop Forza Horizon 6. As mentioned earlier, they’re the ones who handled the previous Forza Horizon installments and the upcoming Fable game. Considering the reception of their work, there’s no need to worry about Forza Horizon 6’s quality.
However, the studio did undergo a critical staff change since co-founder/studio director Gavin Raeburn and Creative Director Mike Brown left Playground Games to each open their own studios. Still, Raeburn was immediately replaced by General Manager Trevor Williams, a fellow co-founder of Playground Games. It’s hard to tell if the staff changes will affect Forza Horizon 6, so we’ll have to wait and see until its release.
