Something that may have slipped many by over the weekend during all the madness going on around the Fortnite Cube is that the game is getting a new Assault Rifle, which is basically an AK-47.
First revealed during an in-game message, the AK-47 (or AKM, it’s a weird mix between the two) will be called the Heavy AR and will be “a powerful assault rifle that is useful when fired in short bursts”. This is most likely due to the real-life AK variants having some pretty robust recoil the longer they are fired.
So what you will effectively be looking at here is a weapon that is absolutely deadly with first-shot accuracy but somewhat unreliable for constant fire. You’d have to guess that it would be more potent than the SCAR when used for just a short while and totally unwieldy when firing constantly from range.
We don’t know much else about the weapon, other than the background for it may be indicating its rarity. The golden/yellow background hints that it will be a Legendary weapon and join the SCAR and FAMAS as highly sought after Assault Rifles in the game.
It’s unclear just when this new weapon will be added to the game, but you should expect it to land during the next patch for the game, which may land tomorrow.
