Fortnite Winterfest 2023: How to Unlock Holiday Boxy for Free (UPDATED)

Holiday Boxy

Say what you will about Epic, but they sure love giving away free cosmetics in Fortnite these days. With every major event or collaboration, they seem to give at least one thing away, and with Winterfest returning for 2023, you best believe that free skins are back on the menu. While she’s already an NPC on the map, players also unlock Holiday Boxy as a skin for free in Fortnite this Winterfest, along with Winterfest Bushranger.

To unlock Holiday Boxy in Fortnite, players just have to keep logging on every day during Winterfest 2023. It’s as simple as that, no need to play matches or complete quests.

Each day, go to Quests > Daily Gifts and then claim the free gift until eventually you unlock Holiday Boxy, which is a reward for the third day of Winterfest (December 16th).

You have until January 2nd, 2024 to collect all of your daily gifts for Winterfest 2023.

Players will also unlock Winter Boxy’s LEGO form as part of Winterfest 2023.

Holiday Boxy is a restyle of the Boxy skin that was first added to the game in Chapter 2 – Season 2. Epic typically add restyles of their most popular skins for Christmas events, and that looks to be the case here as Boxy is a pretty widely liked skin.

Once Winterfest 2023 is over, players won’t be able to get Holiday Boxy for free. She may come to the Item Shop during next year’s Winterfest, but that isn’t yet clear.

And no, there is no Crackshot’s Cabin in Fortnite this year, and that really is a shame. Here’s hoping it can come back next year when Epic isn’t trying to handle four simultaneous launches at once.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
