Which Fortnite Weapons Have Never Been Vaulted?

Only two out of dozens.

Fortnite

Fortnite is a constantly shifting game that doesn’t allow itself to become complacent for too long, especially with its loot pool. Countless weapons have been vaulted and unvaulted over the years, keeping the loot fresh and varied, though there are only two weapons that have never been vaulted since the game’s launch in late 2017.

The first is the Assault Rifle, which has never been vaulted in any of its normal forms. The Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary Assault Rifles have been a part of the game since the very beginning and would be a puzzling thing to vault at any point in the future. The AR in Fortnite is kind of like bread: versatile, basic and pretty much everywhere you look.

The second weapon that’s never been vaulted in Fortnite is the Pistol, though only in its Common and Uncommon variants — the Rare pistol was vaulted in Chapter 1 – Season 5 before being unvaulted again for Chapter 2. Epic and Legendary pistols were also vaulted at the start of Chapter 2 – Season 4 but were then unvaulted the following season.

While it’s possible that these weapons will get vaulted at some point in the future, Fortnite’s loot pool does need them for balance, the Pistol in particular. There should always be a scale of best and worst weapons in any battle royale, and weapons like the Pistol need to be near the bottom to make those at the top look even better. As for the Assault Rifle, while it’s mainly used to spam and could therefore be seen as a “negative” weapon by Epic, it’s not impossible that they would swap it for another kind of AR, though they would perhaps be unwise to.

Ultimately, when it comes to the loot pool in Fortnite, you should never take any weapons or items for granted. The Pump Shotgun is an integral part of competitive play, yet it’s been vaulted on three separate occasions at this time of writing. If Epic feels like things need to be shaken up, they will.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
