Just like in last year’s Winterfest, Fortnite‘s Christmas 2020 celebrations will bring with it some pretty broad changes to the map and general experience. But that’s not the best thing about Christmas in Fortnite: free skins like Snowmando are what you’re here for.

Basically a snowman put into a beefcake suit, Snowmando is the star of the Christmas event this year and is also an NPC who will give you the The Big Chill Exotic weapon, along with other quests.

Here’s everything you need to know to unlock Snowmando as as a free skin in Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 5.

How To Unlock the Snowmando Skin In Fortnite

To unlock the Snowmando skin in Fortnite for free, you have to complete nine Operation Snowdown challenges, which are this year’s version of Christmas-specific challenges, during Winterfest. Once done, Snowmando will then be added to your locker.

Fortnite Operation Snowdown Challenges

Here are all of the challenges to complete as part of the Christmas event in Fortnite:

Visit Different Snowmando Outposts (1)

Deal Damage With Lever Action Rifle (100)

Dance at different Holiday trees (5)

Place Top 10 with friends in squads (3)

Destroy Nutcracker statues (5)

Travel 5000 meters in X-4 Stormwings (5000)

Shoot down opponent structures with X-4 Stormwings (10)

Collect Gold Bars (100)

Catch a Snowy Flopper (1)

Revive a player in different matches (3)

Hide inside a Sneaky Snowmando in different matches (3)

Stoke a campfire (2)

Deal damage at Snowmando outposts (250)

Use Chiller Launcher to apply icy feet to opponents (10)

Nothing too challenging here at all, though it’s nice to see some location-based challenges return for the Christmas event this year. Snowy Floppers and Lever Action Rifles are brand new items for this patch, but X-4 Stormwings haven’t been seen since Season 7 of Chapter 1.

How Long Do I Have To Unlock Snowmando?

Snowmando will be available from the start until the conclusion of the Christmas event in Fortnite, which is December 18th, 2020 to January 5th, 2021. You can complete your challenges at any pace you like, as long as you get them completed before it finishes.

Elsewhere in Fortnite, don’t forget that you can currently invited your friends who maybe haven’t touched the game in a long time to take part in Reboot A Friend for freebies.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
