Fortnite Season 7 Looks Like It’s Bringing Snow

It's beginning to look a lot like a snowy Christmas for Fortnite season 7.

Fortnite season 7

It’s been a very unusual build for Season 7 of Fortnite. There’s been no “epic” continuing theme from Epic; no meteors in the sky or weird cubes trundling around the map. So far, we haven’t seen much to indicate the theme of the season except for some very reaching hints about a castle and what A.I.M. is up to.

As has been rumoured for a while, however, it looks like Season 7 will add snow to the Fortnite map presumably to coincide with it taking place during the Christmas period, which many people have fond memories of from 2017 Fortnite.

The clues were discovered by dataminer @FNBRLeaks, who noticed that new snow files had been added to the game with the v6.31 update.

They also noticed that there are now files for a kind of snow storm in the game, which may indicate that the standard storm circle will be replaced by a snowy one instead that will eliminate players through cold instead, Ring of Elysium style.

There doesn’t seem to be much indication of how widely the snow would affect Fortnite in Season 7, but you would have to think that it won’t cover the entire map. Maybe it will be a snowy biome as seen with the desert biome in the south-east corner of the map with Paradise Palms et al?

It will also be interesting to see how wintry conditions affect gameplay, if at all. Maybe the snowy areas could create a (less annoying) Chiller effect with players sliding around? The most obvious placement would be in Leaky Lake where all of the water could turn to ice.

We’ll just have to wait and see when Fortnite Season 7 begins sometime in December.
