Fortnite Season 4 Guide: Week 4 Battle Pass Challenges Walkthrough

Fortnite Season 4 Building

Week 4 of season 4’s Battle Pass went live a few hours ago with Tuesday (8am GMT) being the weekly reset day. As per usual, you’ll need the Battle Pass (950 V-bucks) to be able to access and complete these challenges and therefore obtain those delicious rewards. Don’t fret if you don’t have the Battle Pass yet, all challenges are retroactive, so you can complete these challenges at a later date. As long as you don’t wait an entire season, of course.

Below is a list of the 7 challenges for week 4 and how to complete them.

Fortnite Season 4 Week 4 Battle Pass Challenges

Fortnite Battle Royale Shotguns Broken

Deal damage with assault rifles to opponents (1000 damage)
Standard damage with X weapon type challenge. This week is assault rifles, which includes: assault rifle (M16/M4 wannabe), burst rifle (the AK wannabe), the higher quality burst rifle (FAMAS wannabe), assault rifle with scope and the LMG (SAW wannabe). A 1000 damage is the required amount for you to complete this challenge. While it looks like a lot at first (double last week’s), it won’t take that long due to the accuracy, range, damage, fire rate and commonality of assault rifles in Fortnite.

Search chests in Wailing Woods (7 chests)
Your typical ‘search the chests’ challenge we receive each week. This time the location is Wailing Woods. Boy, let me tell you: this location sucks for this kind of challenge. Wailing Woods is not a chest dense location to begin with and to compound matters, the chests that do exist are quite distant from each other. The best place is the hedge maze as it seems to have the most chests compacted into the area, but prepare to fight for them. The chests perched on the utes (pick-up truck) count towards Wailing Woods chests. Currently, with everybody landing there this week for the challenge, this is probably going to take the most games out of any location this season to accomplish.

Open ammo boxes in a single match (7 boxes)
A bit different from your weekly roster of challenges (was present last season, though). Ammo boxes are quite prolific in Fortnite, so finding them isn’t much of an issue, the issue is doing it without dying. If you want a bit of a safety net, bring a squad so they can revive you if you go down.

Visit the center of different Storm Circles in a single match (3 Storm Circles)
This challenge is unique in that it replaces the weekly ‘scavenger hunt’ challenge. You need to visit a purple lightning bolt shaped icon at the centre of each storm contraction (when it gets smaller, it moves) in a single match. This challenge can be quite trying as you need to survive a decent amount into each match. We’ve laid out some tips on how this challenge works and how to complete it more easily.

Search between a bench, ice cream truck and a helicopter
This is the typical treasure hunt based challenge for week 4. Basically identical to week 2’s treasure challenge, with just the landmarks and treasure location changed. Like the previous weeks, you can skip straight to the treasure if you happen to know where it’s buried. If you’re not much for orienteering, or want those Battle Stars ASAP, we have you covered.

Trap Elimination (1 kill)
Your straightforward kill them with a specific weapon challenge. Except this week it’s not your typical gun, it’s the spike trap. This challenge can be quite frustrating, taking me the longest of any challenge for the week. Traps are fairly common, but finding them in a location that they’ll get a kill can be another story entirely. The best strategy is to land at Tilted Towers, find as many traps as you can and just pepper the inside of buildings with them. Titled is specifically good due to it being a very highly trafficked area with lots of random nooks to place a trap in. Finally, it’s worth noting that traps have been nerfed down to 75 damage (from 125) now, so they’re not a one shot kill a player with full HP (or partial HP and shields). This makes Tilted even better as usually people are injured from all the fighting.

Eliminate opponents in Snobby Shores (3 kills)
Your other straightforward kill challenge, but this time based on a location. You need to get 3 kills in Snobby Shores to complete this one. There isn’t too much special to mention here, Snobby contains a lot of loot and typically has players dropping at it every game. This one shouldn’t be too difficult or intense, but won’t be abandoned either. Just keep landing here until you’ve nailed your 3 kills; you can do this over as many games as you’d like.
