Fortnite: Chapter 3 – Season 3 is a season with a big party atmosphere, Loopers across the island coming together to celebrate the summer. Nothing quite says “party” like unlocking Darth Vader as a skin, of course.

Darth Vader is the latest Star Wars skin to make their way to Fortnite following Obi-Wan, and with the latter’s series currently under way on Disney Plus, a crossover with Fortnite makes a load of sense. And you can play as him in Fortnite.

To unlock Darth Vader in Fortnite, players will need to purchase the Chapter 3 – Season 3 Battle Pass. The Battle Past costs 950 V-Bucks, which translates to around $7.99, or is included as part of your Fortnite Crew subscription, which is a monthly service that gives players V-Bucks and skins for signing up.

Once you have the Battle Pass, you will then have to grind to earn yourself Battle Stars, which can be earned for levelling up your Battle Pass by completing challenges and just generally playing the game. The more you level up, the slower you will earn Battle Stars.

With your Battle Stars, you then have to unlock enough Battle Pass content before Darth Vader becomes available to claim. You will have to unlock up to Page 10 on your Battle Pass or reach Level 90 before you can unlock Darth Vader in Fortnite, but you will then need nine additional Battle Stars before you can unlock him on that page. It’s a lot of grind, but he is the tier 100 Battle Pass skin for a reason.

When you’ve unlocked Vader, there’s loads of other cosmetics that you can also unlock for him, including a wrap, glider, emote, and more. All of this will also require you to earn Battle Stars.

Don’t forget that you have until the end of the season to complete your Battle Pass, after which you won’t be able to make any more progress and will be locked out of unlocking Darth Vader. You can also find him on the map as a boss.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
