Fortnite Overtime Challenges Guide: Racetrack & Dance Club Ammo Boxes Locations

The last tricky Fortnite Overtime challenge asks you to find Racetrack & Dance Club ammo boxes. We found them for you.

The final batch of Overtime challenges have been released and in it is another ‘search chests or ammo boxes’ challenge. This one functions identically to the first rendition, specifying two locations in which you need to search a total of seven chests and/or ammo boxes. Like the previous versions: very simple in theory, quite the pain in practise. Because the reward for completing these challenges is so good (Season 8’s Battle Pass for free), you will be competing with a veritable tsunami of players trying to also finish off the same challenge.

However, this challenge won’t be as bad as the RV Park/Motel version as the challenges have been staggered and different people are up to different points in completion. The initial rush will still be bad, but player density should be far less than the opening hours of the Overtime challenges. Both the Racetrack and Dance Club have higher chest and ammo box quantities as well, making this significantly less difficult to complete.

Chests are easy to locate thanks to their auditory and visual cues (glowing and ringing ambience). Ammo boxes on the other hand are small and tend to be tucked away in corners or less openly obvious spots. With this in mind, this article will cover all the potential spawn locations for ammo boxes we found at the Racetrack and Dance Club. It is worth noting that ammo boxes follow the same logic as chests do: they have predetermined spawn locations, but do not necessarily spawn in those locations every match. So it is possible for all the locations we’ve documented to not have an ammo box at it during that particular match. However, you should find them in these locations during majority of your matches. Finally, you can complete this over as many games as are required, as long as you don’t quit out of your match before it’s ‘over’ (i.e. eliminated or won), you just need seven in total.

Racetrack Ammo Box Locations

The Racetrack is located in the desert biome on the east coast of the map. You’ll find it south of Lonely Lodge and North of Paradise Palms, occupying J6 and J7 on the main map’s grid.

Of the two locations you can choose between, this one is probably the best for incremental completion. It spawns a respective number of ammo boxes (we found six), which are all clustered around the building. This allows you to drop in, snag 2-3 and make a run for more/continue playing the game/dying.

The southern part of the building houses a small storage garage, with some boxes and shelves in it. There is a set of shelves under the stairs that has an ammo box sitting on it.

Main Building Dining Area Ammo Box

On the second floor there is a bunch of picnic tables forming a dining area that overlooks the racetrack. An ammo box rests on one of these tables.

Snack Bar Ammo Box

Just south of the main building there is a small snack bar. On the bottom floor of this bar is a small kitchen/service area that has an ammo box sitting on the front counter.

Garage South Ammo Box

Inside the garage there is a counter with a TV on it and a set of shelves next to it, the ammo box is on that shelf.

Garage North Ammo Box

Inside the same garage on the north wall is a set of shelves with an ammo box on it.

Garage Outside Ammo Box

Near the west entrance of the garage is a picnic table with an ammo box atop it.

Dance Club Ammo Box Locations

Fortnite Dance Club Ammo Boxes

The Dance Club is found in the snow biome, towards the southern edge of the map. It’s south of Shifty Shafts, northeast of Happy Hamlet, near the map’s main river. Located at E9 on the main map’s grid.

This location is quite small in terms of total space compared to the Racetrack, but it still spawns a respectable number of ammo boxes (we found five). This means they’re all densely packed compared to most locations. However, while the picture shows the boxes are all very close to each other, the building is three stories high and has a decent amount of verticality, so you will find the boxes on the east and west edges of the building all on different floors.

Ground Floor Ammo Box

There is a small room on the southwestern corner of the building on the ground floor, the ammo box is secluded away on a set of shelves in here.

Second Floor East Ammo Box

There is a bunch of booths overlooking the dance floor on the second floor of the club. On the eastern side of this catwalk is an ammo next to a booth.

Second Floor West Ammo Box

On the second floor catwalk there will be a door leading to a small storage room, the ammo box is on a set of shelves in that room.

Third Floor East Ammo Box

A set of stairs from the second floor can take you to a set of catwalks way up above the rest of the complex (near the skylight). This is the third floor and houses an ammo box on the east side in plain sight.

Third Floor West Ammo Box

This same catwalk houses an ammo box directly across from the eastern one, mirroring its location.

This version of the challenge should be substantially easier than the previous two iterations of the challenge. Ammo boxes and chests are more common and player traffic is less dense. However, it will still take its fair share of games to knock out due to the nature of the challenge. Remember that completing 13 of the 20 available Overtime challenges will reward you with a Season 8 Battle Pass (i.e. a free Battle Pass for next season), which is a large part of the reason these challenges are so cut-throat. But it is an enticing prospect for those us looking forward to seeing how Epic will spice Fortnite up in response to Apex Legends.

This is the final batch of Overtime challenges, with all 20 being released. Season 8 is slated to drop the usual weekly reset time on the 28th. So if you want your free Battle Pass, better get a boogie on.
