As one of the most beaten up and changed locations on the Fortnite map, it should be no surprise to see that Loot Lake has once again gone through some major alterations following the v8.40 update.
It’s a little less significant than a giant floating island, for sure, but it looks like there’s some kind of silo or bunker underneath Loot Lake now, which has been a recurring theme in Fortnite over the seasons; shame that Wailing Woods one never came to anything, eh.
UPDATE: looking at it again, it may actually be a UFO.
It looks like this is replacing that stone formation that used to be at the center of Loot Lake, which was left in the aftermath of the Kevin/butterfly event in Season 6. Just go towards Loot Lake and you cannot miss it.
You cannot currently go inside the bunker. Boo.
There’s quite a lot surrounding the Loot Lake bunker, including a couple of outposts and trucks, suggesting that there is still work to be done here.
Still not a great place to land, though. Big, open space with a lower chance of loot and not many places to run anyway to in a hurry? I will stick to my usual landing spot, thanks.
