It wouldn’t be October in Fortnite without some Halloween content to look forward to, with it being many fans’ favorite event of the year. Luckily, Fortnitemares 2022 is right around the corner.
Fortnitemares is the longest tradition in Fortnite’s long history, with the first Fortnitemares dropping way back in 2017. Ever since Chapter 1 – Season 1, Fortnitemares has just been getting bigger and bigger, with new modes, skins, and content added at the start and over the course of the event. Fortnitemares 2022 could be the biggest, scariest Halloween event in Fortnite to date.
Here’s everything you need to know about the spookiest time of the year in Epic’s BR hit, Fortnitemares 2022.

Fortnitemares 2022 is currently scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 18th, 2022. Players will have to download an update, which include all of the Fortnitemares content.
As for time, expect Fortnite to go into downtime at around 9 AM BST / 4 AM ET and then come back online within the five hours following that, just based on how protracted update downtimes have been of late.
When Will Fortnitemares 2022 End?
UPDATE: Fortnitemares 2022 has been confirmed to end on November 1st, 2022, meaning that it will last for just under two whole weeks.
ORIGINAL STORY: Based on Fortnitemares events of the past, Fortnitemares 2022 should be quite a long affair.
Last year’s Fortnitemares ran for almost an entire month, which was felt to be a bit long by some in the community. It looks like this year’s even will run for far less time, perhaps two weeks.
We will update this when we know for certain, but don’t expect Fortnitemares 2022 to go on for as long as last year.
What To Expect From Fortnitemares 2022
UPDATE: Fortnitemares 2022 has been revealed, and it’s a pretty huge update.
DJ Lyka is playing a massive set at the Reality Tree, Howler Claws have slashed their way onto the map, and there’s even some update POIs and boss encounters for player to discover.

ORIGINAL STORY: While it’s not clear yet what players should expect from Fortnitemares, it’s a safe bet to assume that classic Halloween weapon designs like the Pumpkin Rocket Launcher will be making a comeback.
Apart from that, The Nothing has recently made their debut on the island as a voice inside a TV, so they could be about to appear for real. They seem to be the big bad behind all of the Chrome currently surrounding the Fortnite Island, and it’s highly unlikely that they’re going to stop with The Seven.
Previous updates have show that Epic has been tinkering around with the Storm King boss, meaning that there’s a high chance he makes another appearance with a fresh look or design.
Many players may have forgotten the strange Universal Monsters crossover with Fortnite and Universal’s classic monsters in early 2022 as part of an animation showcase. The reimagined monsters are seen breaking though a barrier onto the Fortnite island at the end of the short, and considering the fact that this short was made in Unreal Engine, it’s a pretty sage bet that Dracula, Wolfman, Frankenstein’s Monster and Van Helsing will all come the Item Shop as their modernised versions.
Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
