A lot has been made about Fortnite’s new crafting system, it allowing players to upgrade Makeshift Weapons to make Primal Weapons and Mechanical Weapons. But how do you make the Hunter’s Cloak, an item that you need to craft for a Week 1 challenge?
Well, thanks to InTheLittleWood, we know exactly how to craft a Hunter’s Cloak in Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 6.
Hunter’s Cloak Crafting Requirements
To craft the Hunter’s Cloak, you will need 2x Animal Bones and 1x Meat. Both of these resources can be harvested from boars, chicken, or wolves with the latter giving you the most resources, though all wildlife randomly spawns.
However, the paddock outside of Colossal Crops, a POI added at the start of Season 6, features respawning boar, meaning that you can easily farm them over and over until you have all the resources you could ever need.
Once crafted, the Hunter’s Cloak will then be available in your inventory and will replace your back bling once selected and you will have completed the challenge for 24000 XP.
What Does The Hunter’s Cloak Do?
As well as stopping the always hostile wolves from attacking you, you can actually tame the animals to make them fight by your side. This is a pretty big mechanic for Season 6 that will no doubt be completely overlooked.
Simply approach a wild animal with your Hunter’s Cloak equipped and then interact with them to tame them. They will work very similarly to the NPCs you recruit in that they will attack any enemies that engage you, but they won’t exactly be smart about it.
How To Craft In Fortnite
To craft in Fortnite, go into your inventory and then press R1 or RB if you’re using a controller to get to the crafting menu. Then, with the resources you need, press square/X on your controller to craft the item.
