Fortnite: Chapter 5 – Season 2 Just Vaulted Two of the Most Popular Items

No live service game can ever stay the same for too long, and that’s certainly the case when it comes to Fortnite. With the launch of Chapter 5 – Season 2, plenty of new items are entering the loot pool but plenty are also leaving and going in the vault. Every season, Epic has to make some pretty tough choices, and it’s clear that not everybody is going to like what’s been vaulted.

The Ballistic Shield was one of Season 1’s more controversial items early on, as it was difficult to counter before it was nerfed. Elsewhere, the Grapple Blade was a very popular item as it was one of the best ways of getting around the island. Now, both of those items are gone for Season 2.

Here’s everything vaulted for Fortnite: Chapter 5 – Season 2:

– Anvil Rocket Launcher
– Ballistic Shield
– Bananas
– Cardboard Box
– Crash Pad Jr.
– EMP Stealth Camo
– Enforcer AR
– Grapple Blade
– Hyper SMG
– Lock On Pistol
– Pizza Party
– Snowball Launcher
– Striker AR

On top of these, all of the mythics from Season 1 that could be found by defeating bosses dotted around the map have also, of course, been vaulted.

Bear in mind that you can still access everything added during Season 1 in Creative maps, it’s just that they’ve been vaulted in the core modes. There’s also a very high chance that they will return in the future, and we’d put good money on the Grapple Blade returning in the not too distant future in one form or another.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
