Fortnite: Chapter 4 – Season 3: How To Unlock Optimus Prime

Fortnite has no shortage of crossovers these days, and while there used to be a time when a collaboration skin in the Battle Pass was an unusual thing, now it’s expected. We also all expected Optimus Prime as a skin in the Chapter 4 – Season 3 Battle Pass following a pretty big leak, but it’s still wild to actually see him in game.

Optimus Prime is for all intents and purposes the mascot of Transformers, the iconic mecha franchise that’s getting a brand new movie, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, in cinemas, so this crossover makes sense from a marketing perspective, even if Optimus is weirdly shrunken down in Fortnite.

To unlock Optimus Prime in Fortnite, players must first purchase the Season 3 Battle Pass, which costs 950 V-Bucks, roughly around £6.49 / $7.99. Players can also subscribe to Fortnite Crew to get the most recent Battle Pass, a monthly skin, and 1000 V-Bucks.

However, players will have to reach tier 100 of the Battle Pass to actually be able to unlock Optimus Prime. To unlock Battle Pass tiers, players can either spend extra V-Bucks or grind by completing quests and generally playing the game to earn Battle Stars. While players can unlock Optimus as soon as they reach the 14th page, they will first have to spend enough Battle Stars to unlock the page itself. If you’re playing the game all season, expect it to take you around 100 or so hours to unlock Optimus without any extra investment.
