Fortnite: Chapter 4 – Season 2: Is the Pump Shotgun Unvaulted?

Fortnite isn’t quite Fortnite for some without the iconic Pump Shotgun, a heavy duty weapon that’s the scourge of many. However, after sensing that it’s perhaps a bit imbalanced, Epic has vaulted Pumps in the game for the last few seasons, which has been a controversial move for some. With the launch of Chapter 4 – Season 2, is the beloved Pump Shotgun back in the game?

The answer is no, the Pump Shotgun has not returned for Chapter 4 – Season 2 and remains vaulted in all of its rarities. The last time it was available in all playlists was Chapter 2 – Season 8, some tow years ago. However, players can get their hands on an alternative that looks like Epic’s latest attempt at replacing it: the Havoc Pump Shotgun.

Available from Common to Legendary rarity, the Havoc Pump is a slow firing shotgun that deals high damage, much like the classic Pump. However, due to a recent change, weapons can no longer do 200 damage in one shot anymore, meaning that the most the Havoc Pump can do is 190.

Only time will tell if Fortnite fans take to the Havoc Pump like they did the original, but one thing’s for certain, just based on how many alternatives they try to make to it, Epic don’t really want to add the classic Pump Shotgun back any time soon. That’s kind of understandable, though, as there’s nothing more offputting for new players than getting hit with a headshot that immediately sends you back to the lobby. The true OGs remember the terror of Double Pump and also being hit for some crazy damage from distance with these beasts.

Don’t forget that if you really miss the classic Pump Shotgun that much, you can still use it in various Creative maps, including those that are competitively minded, like Zone Wars.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
