Reality Augments are new major mechanics added in Fortnite: Chapter 4 – Season 1 that work a lot like perks. They’re the single biggest change to the in-match flow of Fortnite since bounties were added back in Chapter 2 and will shake up how matches themselves play out.
In short, Reality Augments are perks that unlock throughout a match. At random points, most likely when the lobby starts to shrink below specific thresholds, players will be given of one of two different Reality Augments to choose from. If you don’t like the options given to you, you can reroll, meaning that you can choose again with different options.
The longer you survive, the more Reality Augments you will accrue, meaning the more adept you are — but the same is also true of your enemies.
There are 22 Reality Augments in Fortnite: Chapter 4, with more likely to be added. Here’s all of the Augments that we know about so far.
Mark enemies hit by marksman rifle or bow.
Bows draw and reload faster, and you regenerate arrows over time.
Regenerate health while standing in foliage like bushes.
Receive a Chug Cannon. Good for squads.
After your shield breaks, briefly regenerate health and gain movement speed.
Destroyed objects have a chance to drop explosives.
Your first bullet in an AR magazine deals more damage.
See the next Storm Circles.
Receive a Fishing Rod to fish only for Jellyfish, but you can do it anywhere.
Reload Light Ammo faster.

Jump higher while sprinting, also in lower gravity.
Chance to find Chug Splash in every container.

Apply Chonkers and Cow Catchers to any car or truck you enter.
Gain Zero Point Dash after breaking enemy shield.
Bear in mind that these perks will all wear off at the end of a match.
Some of these Reality Augments will be available in Competitive playlists while others won’t, though the majority will. As of the launch of Season 1, neither Supercharged or Tricked Out are available.
We will update this list with all of the Reality Augments when we know more about them. Players can see all of the Reality Augments they have used so far in a collection book similar to when catching fish and encountering NPCs.
Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
