Fortnite season 5 is already well underway and has brought with it a host of new changes to the map and also the core gameplay. Shotguns have been nerfed, rifts have been riffed, and golf has been golfed. And now, in the v5.0 content update, a new gun has been added.
The Submachine Gun, which was teased before being added today, will be lethal in the right hands. It has a solid damage output per hit and can be found almost everywhere. Epic have been really on the ball with new weapons lately after adding the dual pistols, drum gun, and thermal scoped AR.
Here’s all the details:
Submachine Gun added.
– Available in Common, Uncommon, and Rare variants.
– 19-21 base damage.
– Uses Light Ammo.
– 30 round capacity.
– Can be found in floor loot and chests.
Sad news for fans of the tactical SMG and also me because this article I wrote is now completely irrelevant: the tactical SMG has been vaulted and is no longer available. I said a fond farewell to it by abusing the hell out of the pump and SMG combo that’s become so prevalent after the recent shotgun nerf.
We’re yet to try out the new weapon in-game, so bear with us and we’ll bring you our thoughts. By the looks of things, it doesn’t seem like it will be a million miles away from the tactical SMG so expect it to rip through enemies all the same.
