Ever since it became something of a norm, we’ve seen lots of uses for 360 video. Whether it’s for sports matches to show the full stadium, concerts that emphasise the crowd size, or just some guy playing with a room full of cats, it’s a trend that doesn’t seem like it’s going away.
Ahead of the For Honor open beta, however, Ubisoft released the best example of it yet that places you in the center of the battle. It took me from being relatively nonplussed about the new IP and onto the hype train with a one way ticket.
The only complaint I could have is that it doesn’t go on for nine hours. It does an excellent job of showing off the brutality of war with its murky colours and shows once and for all that Vikings are the greatest. The resignation of the Knight at 1:14 to one more battle before he launches himself at the oncoming attackers is oh so beautiful, too.
For Honor’s open beta is going on right now and will end on Feb 12th. The full game will launch on Feb 14th.
