Final Fantasy VII Remake “Urgently” Needs New Staff

It’s no secret that by the time the Final Fantasy VII remake finally reaches shelves, we may all be dead. It’s been in development for a long time with barely a murmur heard since its announcement two years ago, but that might be down to the sheer scale of the task at hand: updating a twenty year old game to be inline with those of today.

The guys at Square Enix will need all the hands on deck they can muster. It should come as no surprise, then, that they posted recruitment letters on Square Enix’s official website to add to the team.

Tetsuya Nomura, Yoshinori Kitase, and Naoki Hamaguchi wrote on the website in Japanese (obviously), but the guys at Siliconera were kind enough to translate them. Here’s Nomura’s post:

“As those of you concerned with the industry may already know, the number of domestic staff is significantly lower compared to that of foreign high-definition developers. Therefore, in order to further strengthen the development of this title, we must urgently recruit as much staff as possible.”

The episodic remake is still a ways off release, though we are expecting to see some kind of update on it at this year’s E3. Are you still excited for the return of Cloud? Let us know down below.
