If you’re looking to hunt vampires and kill zombies all while exploring the wild west, then Evil West is definitely the one for you. The game, which is developed by Flying Wild Hog of Shadow Warrior fame, looks to be an absolute standout for the last part of 2022, but will it be coming to Xbox Game Pass?
Our first look at the game came during The Game Awards in 2020 via its reveal trailer. Accompanied by a heavy rendition of Johnny Cash’s “God’s Gonna Cut You Down”, this foreboding trailer allows fans to see just how much action Evil West will be packed with.
Evil West is set to release on November 22, 2022, after being pushed back from a release on September 20th. The game will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X & S. Xbox users that are eagerly awaiting the game are curious to find out whether or not Evil West will appear on Game Pass when it launches, and, unfortunately, the outlook isn’t great.

If you took God of War, Doom, and Red Dead Redemption and threw them all into a blender, you’d end up with Evil West. The game is an epic combination of science fiction and gothic horror that fans are sure to love.
Set in the western American frontier, players will be able to travel through several related settings, such as eerie deserts, seemingly abandoned towns, and even underground dungeons with Native American architecture. Throughout the journey, Evil West’s protagonist will encounter vampires, zombies, and other mythical creatures, none of which compare to what is faced in boss battles.
The gameplay reveal trailer, which was shown at The Game Awards in 2021, gives yet another glimpse at the epic and bloody saga that is Evil West. Players will be able to employ various combat mechanisms to help them defeat the evil creatures around them, including hard-hitting melee attacks, like the ones given by Wolverine-style claws that pack an electrifying punch, and lethal ranged attacks using weapons like shotguns or pistols.
The game’s tagline is “Evil never sleeps, but it bleeds”, and Evil West’s trailers do an amazing job of proving that exact point.
Evil West & Game Pass
Evil West’s release date was pushed back from September 20th to November 22, 2022. When the game launches, it’ll be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S, and PC.
Sadly, as of right now, Evil West is likely not going to be released to Game Pass on day one. The question remains whether the game will come to Game Pass in the near future or at all.
There isn’t an official answer for this, so it’s simply left up to speculation. While Evil West’s publisher, Focus Entertainment, has worked with Microsoft before on other Game Pass games, this doesn’t necessarily give fans an explicit answer on Evil West’s Game Pass fate. For now, those hoping to play Evil West for “free” will simply have to wait, as only time will tell.
