If you’re playing a Soulsborne game, you’re probably going to fight a dragon at some point. This has been true of every Soulsborne game FromSoftware has unleashed barring Bloodborne, and Elden Ring is no exception. The trend of it showing up randomly to take you down a peg also holds true here, as it did in Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls. Here’s where you can find Flying Dragon Agheel in Elden Ring.

Agheel can be found at the center of the lake in Limgrave.

Since there’s only one lake in this area, the focus is already pretty clear, but if you’re struggling, look for some torches. If you see them, you’ll begin to approach what appears to be an excavation or pilgrimage of some sort, only to see a dragon come in and light all of the members of the group up in spectacular fashion.

If you’re too close, you’ll find yourself in their unlucky company, but if you tread carefully, you’ll get your first shot at a boss that was featured heavily in the trailers for Elden Ring. Agheel is fast and deadly absolutely best fought from the back of your spectral steed, Torrent. Fighting him on foot will almost certainly leave you a burned cinder in the dirt.

When he’s perched on the ground, you’ll want to ride up on his claws and swing away two or three times before retreating back. He has swiping attacks, biting attacks, and flame attacks, all of which he will telegraph with a big motion of his body. Also, watch for his tail attack, though he rarely uses it.

Eventually, you’ll ride out his flames and gain yourself a Dragon Heart for your efforts. This can be used to gain favors at the Draconian Church later on in the game, and also serves as a badge of honor that you’ve bested this beast.

Elden Ring is available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X & S, and Xbox One.
