Edgar Ramirez and Michael Pitt Star in The Last Days of American Crime

Cinemas may not be fully open in June, but Netflix is still planning to give us a summer movie season.

Netflix just released the trailer for The Last Days of American Crime, which is based on a graphic novel of the same name. The film stars Edgar Ramirez (Graham Bricke) and Michael Pitt (Kevin Cash), whose characters plan to commit the heist of the century before crime stops altogether, since the government plans to broadcast a signal that would make it impossible for individuals to commit crime.

Bricke lost his brother to the signal, so he has a vested interest in sticking it to the authorities, while Cash is looking to make his legacy with this heist. The two team up with black market hacker Shelby Dupree (Anna Brewster), and based on the trailer, we can expect some really great action sequences. The Last Days of American Crime is directed by Olivier Megaton, who directed the Taken sequels and Transporter 3, and is written by Karl Gajdusek.

Edgar Ramirez is no stranger to Netflix, given his portrayal of Gianni Versace in American Crime Story, but Michael Pitt has mostly been under the radar. Pitt is especially good at playing twisted individuals, given his roles in Funny Games, Hannibal and Murder by Numbers, and it’s always a treat to see him on screen.

The Last Days of American Crime will be released June 5, 2020.
