EA Confirms That Skate 4 Is In Early Development

It only took a decade, but they're listening.

During last night’s EA Play, the company confirmed that they’re finally developing a brand new Skate game. We’re assuming it’s going to be called Skate 4, but for all we know, it could be Skate: Origins, Skate: Revelations, Rise of the Planet of the Skate or some other weird name. Check out the tweet below for the official announcement.

The news was announced by franchise director Deran Chung and creative director Chris Parry, who stated that the game is very early into development right now, but that they were biding their time to wait for the “right idea” when developing the next Skate game. Parry also referenced the vocal fan support for a new Skate title, saying that “you commented this into existence”.

No additional details were provided, such as platforms or gameplay footage, as again, the project is extremely early in its development, but this is still great news for anyone who has been clamouring for a Skate revival. In the meantime, you can also look forward to titles like Skater XL, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 and Session, which is in Early Access on Steam and Xbox Game Preview.
