E3 2016: Eagle Flight and Star Trek VR Showcased at Ubisoft Conference

Star Trek VR

A live pvp of Eagle Flight was demonstrated on stage at the Ubisoft.

A stylistically visualled overgrown scape of Paris was the scene for “Capture the Prey”, a capture the flag/tag game with player Eagles competing for possession of a rabbit.

Utter all the wingman puns you like, our reaction was underwhelmed at best. The game did not show any degree of fantastical innovation in terms of VR gameplay.

I personally imagine this will get old pretty fast, furthermore it still looks like it’s very much in development. Will the final product soar higher?

Next on the VR showcase was Star Trek Bridge Crew, and again, the game does not look very polished at all. The character models looked like a asset pack purchased on Unity. The display promised cooperation and teamwork between players but did not demonstrate anything measurable in that regard.

The title does appear destined to join the litany of atrocious Star Trek franchise games.

One of the lingering questions on this writer’s mind was how much they could have conceivably have paid Levar Burton and Karl Urban to talk up Star Trek Bridge Crew. In fairness though, the latter gentleman is somewhat of an expert on headsets.
