Dying Light 2: Can You Throw Primary Weapons?

Dying Light 2 3
Dying Light 2

One of the best things about the original Dying Light was the ability to physically throw your primary weapons at infected, with you able to just spam your lesser weapons at them like a barrage of bad loot. But does this feature return in Dying Light 2?

Unfortunately, no: you cannot still throw your primary weapons at enemies in Dying Light 2. While it was an unlockable skill in the first game, there’s no equivalent skill anywhere in Dying Light 2’s skill trees.

This change was probably made that players would make better use of the sequel’s environmental weapons, like the spears and gas canisters, instead of just randomly producing weak hammers from out of nowhere. Players should now also be leaning a little more heavily on their accessories like molotovs, throwing knives, and remote C4.

It’s probably a big shame for some players, but this change does ask you to be a bit more mobile and varied during fights and take in your surroundings.

Speaking of weapons, read up on how you can get your hands on Pyramid Head’s sword and also the best katana in the game.

Dying Light 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
