The Ring of Honor World Championship is set to be defended on next week’s edition of AEW Rampage. Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli will put his championship on the line against the wrestling legend in the form of Dustin Rhodes.
This will be the second time that the Ring of Honor World Championship is defended on AEW television, With the first instance coming from Battle of the belts free when Claudio put the championship on the line against, Japanese stand out, Konosuke Takeshita.
This particular match comes around from an open challenge that was issued by Claudio in the opening segments of this week’s Rampage taping. The older of the Rhodes Brothers took up the mantle with the challenge and will thus receive his first championship match since unsuccessfully challenging for the TNT championship under Sammy Guevara.
This huge clash will take place on the August 26th edition of AEW Rampage.
