Dragon Ball The Breakers

Bandai Namco might have had one of the strangest announcements of 2021 a few weeks back with Dragon Ball: The Breakers, an asymmetrical multiplayer game set in the popular anime universe that also takes cues from Dead By Daylight and Friday The 13th.

Now, Bandai have revealed a long gameplay trailer about how The Breakers works, along with the news that there will be a closed beta test next week. Here’s all the information you need to know.

What Is Dragon Ball: The Breakers?

As mentioned, Dragon Ball: The Breakers is an asymmetrical multiplayer game where players either control one of seven survivors, or the villainous Raider. The Raider is an iconic Dragon Ball villain, looking to murder everyone in the vicinity and stop the survivors from the escaping. Meanwhile, the survivors are regular people without super-powers, who have to use a mix of guile, items and sheer dumb luck, to escape the Raider with their lives. It looks daft, but those kinds of games can often be the most fun.

When Is The Dragon Ball: The Breakers Closed Beta?

The Closed Beta will run from December 3rd to December 5th, depending on your timezone, with four distinct play sessions spread out across the weekend. Here’s all the times you need to be aware of:

Session 1: December 4th (Saturday) – 3AM to 7AM CET/2AM to 6AM GMT
Session 2: December 4th (Saturday) – 1PM to 5PM CET/12PM to 4PM GMT

Where Can I Register For The Closed Beta?

Registrations are live right now on the Bandai Namco website, though it’s worth mentioning that registering isn’t a guarantee you’ll be selected to participate. Also, the closed beta will be available on PC only, so if you’re hoping to play Dragon Ball: The Breakers on another platform, you’ll have to wait.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers is set to launch in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and the Nintendo Switch.
