Dragon Ball Super: The Movie Trailer To Debut At SDCC 2018

Dragon Ball Super

Fans of Dragon Ball have eagerly been awaiting news of the Dragon Ball Super movie first teased back in March 2018. That wait will finally end next week as Toei Animation have revealed that the first theatrical trailer will debut at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con event, taking place between the 19th and 22nd of July 2018.

Little is known about the project so far other than that it will be using a gorgeous new animation style suited for much more fluid fighting, features an all-new Saiyan enemy, and is set after the Tournament of Power arc, which saw Goku attain Ultra Instinct (the most powerful form to date) in a fight-for-survival between 8 different universes. You can check out the initial teaser here:

Characters like Vegeta, Piccolo, Whis and Beerus will be returning with updated designs as well as some newcomers as revealed a short while ago. Frieza’s return will be the most interesting however as his role in the Tournament of Power arc featured him working together with Goku for the first time in the franchise. This could symbolise a major change in his character, which will hopefully be touched upon in the new movie.

Dragon Ball Super: The Movie will be written by original creator Akira Toriyama and directed by Tatsuya Nagamine, who has worked on the series and other popular anime features in the past. It will release on December 14th 2018. Looking forward to the trailer debut? Drop us a comment on your thoughts below.
