Double XP Weekend for Friday the 13th: The Game

Friday the 13th The Game

Ki, ki, ki…ma, ma, ma…

If you’ve not played Gun Media’s great Friday the 13th game, then you’re missing out. Sure, it released slightly buggy and the matchmaking was dreadful, but in the weeks since then the small developer has been frantically working away to polish up their asymmetrical multiplayer title.

For the uninitiated: the game pits seven camp counsellors against Jason Voorhees in one of three large, enclosed maps. It’s the counsellor’s job to find a way to escape the camp, while Jason uses a variety of abilities to hunt them down. Escape might come in the form of a vehicle or the police, to name a few, but it’s crucial that you work as a team to escape certain death.

And now you can jump in and begin levelling up straight away, as the game is getting its first double XP event (following the game’s recent patch that added some free content and improved stability).

The event was announced officially today on the game’s Facebook page, in a post that read:

Our Double XP Event goes live at 12PM EST/9AM PST! Get double Experience Points every game from now until Monday the 26th, 12PM EST/9AM PST.

On top of this, Gun Media will be giving all players 13,000 CP, which acts as the game’s digital currency. This allows you to purchase perks for the counsellor players, as well as a plethora of brutal killing moves for Jason. It’s a generous move, which is no doubt to make amends for the state the game launched in.

So if you’ve never tried it, now may be the best time to jump in and escape Camp Crystal Lake. Grab some friends, lock the doors to your cabin, and begin planning your escape.
