Activision have activated a Double XP event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in the run-up to Season 1 going live on December 3rd. Season 1 will bring with it a host of new content, including new maps, modes, weapons and a battle pass.
The Double XP event, which is live now on all platforms, allows players to earn twice the amount of weapon and player XP up until December 2nd. The event XP earned doesn’t stack with any XP tokens, so save those for a week, especially when the first proper season of Officer Ranks go live.
A blog post from Infinity Ward has explained how the Officer Ranks are going to work once the new Season goes live. On December 3rd, any Officer ranks earned, which are levels 56-155, will be reset back to the normal level cap, allowing players the ability to earn another 100 ranks. Don’t worry, your achievement will still be recorded, and you’ll keep any weapon blueprints you managed to unlock.
Anyone who hasn’t yet cleared the Enlisted Ranks, which takes you to the normal level cap of 55, will still need to clear those ranks before taking on the Officer Ranks, so make sure to grind this Double XP event while its live in order to make the most of Season 1.
