Does Palworld Support Cross-Play?

Palworld is the latest phenomenon to set the gaming world on fire, with its off-beat and silly blend of survival crafting, Pokémon-esque monsters and enough guns to make an army feel insecure proving to be a massive success already. In just 8 hours, the game managed to sell 1 million copies, and because it’s available on PC and Xbox Series X & S via Game Pass, there’s going to be no shortage of new players for the next few months. However, Palworld is a multiplayer game, and fans are wondering if there’s cross-play to enjoy.

Unfortunately for friend groups who game on different platforms, Palworld currently doesn’t support full cross-play across all the available platforms. PC and Xbox players can play together, but only if the PC player is using the Xbox PC app to play Palworld. If you’re a Steam user, you won’t be able to play with either Xbox players, or PC players using the Xbox PC app.

While that sounds disheartening for anyone who’s shelled out money for the game on Steam, developers PocketPair have clarified in a Q+A on Discord that they’re looking into adding cross-play for Steam users in the future. This is an Early Access game after all, so it makes sense that we’d see more features later on. Stay tuned, Steam players.

Palworld is available now in Early Access on PC and Xbox Series X & S.
