Pre-orderers? Pre-orderees? Pre-ordites? Who knows.

For the brave of you who still pre-order video games in 2016, today is your lucky day: Dishonored 2 is now playable ahead of its proper launch tomorrow.

If you pre-ordered the game, it should now “unlock” and be available to you on whichever platform you’ve chosen to purchase it on. “Early adopters” will also have access to the original Dishonored in its remastered form for free, which is probably something they will want to play first – the sequel will reportedly have a substantial patch of 9 GB on launch day that will speed up loading times and address general bugs.

Bethesda have not sent out review copies until today, one day before launch, so that reviewers have the same experience as general players. That’s a poor excuse and one that means conservative gamers may have to wait a little longer before finding out the general consensus.

Nevertheless, we’re still pretty excited to play Dishonored 2 as it’s one of the biggest games of the month. The buzz surrounding it is far greater than the steady bubbling that was beneath the original game, so here’s hoping it delivers. Keep an eye out for our verdict over the coming week.
