A lot of people, including myself, are eagerly awaiting the release of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the continuation of the Deus Ex series that promises to take what Human Revolution did and turn it up to by a thousand. To hype fans up even more for it release, Square Enix have recently released the game’s launch trailer ahead of its release later this month.
“You can kill dreams. You can kill innocents. You can kill freedom. But you can’t kill progress.”
Mankind Divided will see the return of gruff-voiced Wolverine killer Adam Jansen who speaks with such masculinity that I can’t help but feel like Goldilocks. He is embroiled in a civil war in the year 2029 between regular humans and augs: people who have augmented technology within their bodies. The game promises to keep the open-world Deus Ex is famous for as well as refining the combat system that made Human Revolution a step forward for the series.
The game’s official synopsis:
“We were all created equal… But in 2029, after the Aug incident which caused the death of millions, mankind stands divided. The oppression of the mechanically augmented has created a climate of fear and resentment, resulting in an escalation of crime and acts of terror. Amid all the chaos, Adam Jensen goes after are the Illuminati, the men and women responsible for tearing the world apart. Armed with a new arsenal of state-of-the-art weapons and augmentations, he must choose the right approach, along with who to trust, in order to unravel a vast worldwide conspiracy.”
Mankind Divided could very well become the best game of 2016, so I am waiting for it with bated breath. 2016, you’ve hurt me too much already.
Mankind Divided drops on August 23rd on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
