Tony Khan is set to make yet another huge announcement on this coming week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. With so many past huge announcements making massive headlines in the world of pro wrestling, you’d be silly to think that this one won’t be equally impressive. Details have started to do the rounds regarding what this huge announcement might be, so fair warning from here on if you want to avoid spoilers.

Talks have been ongoing between AEW and NJPW about producing a joint event sometime in 2022. With the Forbidden Door well and truly smashed through, this is looking more and more likely as we approach the summer. NJPW have put together some mighty supershows in summer seasons gone by, including a historic show at WWE’s go-to venue, Madison Square Garden. Adding All Elite Wrestling stars into the mix for another of these shows would be a gamechanger.

With the likes of Jon Moxley and Minoru Suzuki making regular appearances for the opposite brand, and other NJPW stars frequently being featured on Dynamite and Rampage cards, there’s little standing in the way of this dream event becoming a reality. Therefore it’s likely that Khan will want to capitalise on this buzz and announce a joint show for 2022.

Other speculations have led to talks of a streaming platform being announced, as well as updates on the AEW video game among other rumours.
