It’s hard to destroy every human on the planet when you’ve not got the weapons with which to dispatch death, so it’s a good job that Crypto in Destroy All Humans! 2 has a massive arsenal of weapons to utilise. While you unlock most weapons naturally throughout the course of the game, one weapon requires you to put a bit more effort in before you can unlock it: the Burrow Beast. Here’s everything you need to know about unlocking the Burrow Beast weapon in Destroy All Humans! 2.

The Burrow Beast weapon is tied to a side-story within Destroy All Humans! 2 in which Crypto creates the “Cult of Arkvoodle,” a daft sex cult where unsuspecting humans worship an alien’s sacred crotch. Destroy All Humans! 2 clearly isn’t designed to be taken seriously.

As you make your way through the game’s first three areas, Bay City, Albion and Takoshima, you’ll complete side missions to build up the Cult of Arkvoodle, all with the view of unlocking a new weapon for Crypto. However, you’ll hit a slight snag when you reach Takoshima and complete a few missions, as you’ll be told that you need to have found 30 alien artifacts in order to proceed with the next mission, The Coming Of Arkvoodle.

Alien Artifacts are the red collectibles you can find while wandering around through the game’s worlds. The Artifacts are pretty hard to find compared to some of the other collectibles in the game, but if you search both high and low, you’ll be able to find them. Each area of the game has 10 of these collectibles, so theoretically, you can have the mission unlocked once you’ve reached Takoshima, but it’s probably more likely that you’ll need a few artifacts from the game’s other areas, Tunguska and Solaris, before you’ll unlock the next mission.

Once you’ve collected the 30 artifacts that you need to play the mission, return to Takoshima and start the mission. During the course of the mission, you’ll unlock the Burrow Beast weapon, which you’ll then be able to use to kill some KGB agents, ninjas and any unfortunate civilians who happen to be in the area. The weapon can then be upgraded like other weapons at the Pox Mart menu in your saucer.

Destroy All Humans! 2 is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X & S.
