Along with the launch of Destiny 2’s newest expansion, The Witch Queen, came a bevy of new toys to play with, including several new exotic weapons, a couple of which can be crafted using the Relic at the Enclave on Mars. Here’s how to unlock the cousin of Thorn, Osteo Striga.

The Osteo Striga submachine gun is only available to owners of the Deluxe Edition of The Witch Queen, which gives you access to not only this gun and its Catalyst, but also two dungeons in Year 5, the next 4 seasons of content (seasons 16-19), and a special exotic Sparrow to ride.

To obtain the Weapon Pattern for Osteo Striga, players must complete the main campaign of The Witch Queen. After seeing the final cutscenes, players will be prompted to go meet Ikora Rey on Mars one last time and then visit the Relic. To unlock the Pattern for crafting, open your Triumphs tab and then navigate to the Patterns and Catalysts tab. Under that tab, you will see Osteo Striga under the Submachine Gun category. Click on the icon to unlock the Weapon Pattern at the Relic for Shaping.

To craft Osteo Striga, players will need the following resources:

– 7 Resonant Alloys
– 15,000 Glimmer
– 2,375 Neutral Elements
– 1 Ascendant Alloy
– 70 Ruinous Elements

Players should have enough of these resources in their inventory upon completing the main campaign as the initial tutorial to utilize the Relic is generous with resources and Neutral Elements drop quite generously while doing Deepsight Resonance bounties.

The Catalyst for Osteo Striga becomes available at level 8 as an option to add on to the weapon after players level up the Osteo Striga at the Relic. To slot in the Catalyst for the weapon, open up the Relic and select Reshape. Navigate to where Osteo Striga is, and then select the slot to the furthest right on the Shape screen. The Catalyst costs the following materials to insert:

– 3 Ascendant Alloys
– 140 Ruinous Elements
– 2,000 Neutral Elements

After inserting the Catalyst and forging the weapon, players will need to use the weapon in combat to finish the Catalyst’s objective. The effect of the Catalyst returns ammo to the magazine upon landing a Final Blow with the weapon’s poison damage.

And that’s all there is to unlock the new Osteo Striga exotic weapon in Destiny 2. Bungie has yet to give news if all players will be able to earn this weapon at a later date from random drops or other sources, but as of right now it remains locked to the Deluxe Edition of The Witch Queen.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X & S and Xbox One.
