Deep Silver have announced their latest project, an open world survival RPG called Windbound that’s heading to PC, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch on August 28th. Check out the debut trailer below.
In Windbound, you’ll play as Kara, who finds herself alone on an uncharted island away from your tribe. Waking up slap bang in the middle of the Forbidden Islands with no tools or food, Kara will have to utilise her survival skills, knowledge of crafting and overall can-do attitude to find a way out of her predicament. Along the way, as you manage to craft boats, you’ll be able to explore distant islands and scattered ruins of a long-forgotten civilisation, and you may just find more than the means to head home.
While Windbound certainly looks like a capable and enjoyable survival RPG, with plenty of mystery regarding its story and world, the real star attraction here is the wonderful art style. The game looks absolutely gorgeous, and we can’t wait to see more of it when the game launches this August on all major platforms.
