David Otunga Set To Return To WWE Television

David Otunga is set to return to WWE television after personal matters forced him to step away from television.

The former two-time WWE Tag Team Champion and current RAW commentator found himself under a protective order and investigation for domestic battery during a tumultuous custody battle with the mother of their child.

The investigation meant Otunga was forced away from his usual broadcasting duties and missed November’s Survivor Series pay-per-view.

The decision to remove Otunga from television appears to have not been made by WWE but potentially by Otunga himself. Reports online indicate that the protective order and domestic violence investigation lacked substance, and may have represented a ‘tactical move’ on the part of his ex-partner Jennifer Hudson and her legal team.

Otunga is now listed on the WWE Network as one of the contributors to the Clash of Champions kickoff show, taking place on Sunday December 17.

It is unconfirmed as to whether or not the investigation against Otunga is still ongoing.

The tail-end of this year has now seen two WWE employees under investigation for domestic violence.

The arrest of Rich Swann on Saturday night came under a month after the investigation against Otunga was opened.

Swann’s case appears to be in stark contrast to Otunga’s, with the former being suspended indefinitely not long after news of his arrest broke.
