Daniel Bryan has been medically cleared to return to in-ring action for WWE and looks set to make an incredible comeback at WrestleMania 34 after a surprise announcement on Tuesday afternoon.

The 36-year-old had been forced to retire in February 2016 owing to complications from multiple concussions and a brain lesion.

Fans have since clamoured for the return of the former WWE Champion, who stands as one of the most captivating underdog stories in pro-wrestling history.

In a statement from WWE, the company said “Bryan underwent a full review of his medical history and received comprehensive neurological and physical evaluations independent of WWE. He was cleared by each doctor as well as WWE’s Medical Director, Dr. Joseph Maroon”.

Bryan may now go the route of teaming up with Shane McMahon to take on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn; the potential culmination of months of storylines.
