Cyberpunk 2077: How to Enter Dogtown

Cyberpunk’s Night City is certainly one of the more bustling, alive open world maps in the industry today, even if it may not have always felt that way at launch. Since the game’s release, players have been scouring every inch of its map to try and find whatever secrets it may hold, but there’s one question that’s always stumped players: how exactly do you get into Dogtown?

A sheltered section of Pacifica, Dogtown offers the lowest of the low in Night City, as it’s currently under guerrilla command from a group known as Barghest, and the drug addiction there is an epidemic. It’s not a pretty place, but it definitely is somewhere worth exploring. After being locked out of the squalor since the game’s launch in 2020, players can now finally experience Dogtown by purchasing the Phantom Liberty expansion pack.

Costing £24.99/$29.99, Phantom Liberty is a full blooded expansion pack for Cyberpunk that offers over a dozen new story missions, plenty of side content, and more new weapons than you will even know what to do with. And, of course, Dogtown is finally accessible.

Once you’ve purchased Phantom Liberty, either start a new save specifically to play the DLC, make progress up until the Transmission quest, or reload an old save that’s also past that point. You should soon get a call from Songbird, who will require your help in Dogtown, and then the Phantom Liberty expansion will become available and Dogtown along with it.

Simply follow the directions to the Dogtown border as part of the Dog Eat Dog quest, meet Songbird, then slip in round the back and into Dogtown. After some platforming and a couple of cinematic sequences, you will finally be able explore Dogtown.

To get out of Dogtown, simply use one of the fast travel points or drive up to the exit gate on your map.

Dogtown isn’t the largest area on the map, but it does have plenty packed into it. Whether it’s the Militech Crates to give you access to new Relic powers, constant side content, or all of the emergent storytelling you can discover, there’s lots for you to enjoy.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
