Unless you live on a steady diet of karting and corner boosting, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled might represent a bit of a challenge for you at first. A remake of the PS1 classic, Nitro-Fueled even has CTR veterans questioning their abilities — Hello Kitty Racing, it ain’t. If you want to help yourself, you really ought to take advantage of the Dragon Mines shortcut.
The shortcut, which will also give you the Minekarting trophy or achievement depending on your platform, is one of the easiest to access, it just requiring you to take a sharp right turn early on in a lap and also avoid getting squashed by the mining kart.
Here’s where you can find the Dragon Mines shortcut in CTR Nitro-Fueled.
Remember: You need to get through the tunnel and to the other side without getting flattened, otherwise the trophy or achievement will not pop. If you do manage to get through the tunnel, it’s almost inevitable that you will be squashed soon after so take advantage of the shortcut by jumping off the shortcut track to your left.
This shortcut comes on one of Nitro-Fueled’s most basic tracks, one that doesn’t have many boost pads or even chances for slide boosting, so take advantage of it whenever you can.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is out now for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. From our review:
While its initially harsh difficulty may ruin your happy memories of the original in a hurry, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is kart racing nirvana with an abundance of content to dive into that makes it more than just an exercise in nostalgia.
