Bound for Glory 2023 came with a great deal of headlines. Not only will Impact Wrestling be dropping their namesake and return to the original branding of TNA but a certain heat-magnet may also be joining their ranks in the near future.
Former AEW World Champion and figure of controversy, CM Punk, was backstage at the most recent tapings, meeting and greeting members of the roster and production team backstage. There’s currently no word on why exactly Punk was brought backstage but a safe bet would be that he’s potentially being brought into the mix for 2024.
Having been around backstage previously, talent have yet to be frustrated by his presence (emphasis on the word yet). However, one particular point of worry is the fact that, if Punk were to be signed, then he would be earning almost 20 times more than the rest of the roster. Surely this might stir things up?
CM Punk has been away from the pro wrestling scene since late August, following the backstage incident between himself, Tony Khan and Jungle Boy. As a fan of the pre-princess era of Punk, it has been a shame to see him go out in such fashion, here’s hoping that he can redeem himself as part of the new TNA roster.
