Is Clockwork Revolution Coming To PS5?

Time to revolt.

The Xbox Games Showcase 2023 certainly didn’t have any shortage of games, with plenty of new reveals and announcements coming to the big green platform. Some announcements, like the reveals of Persona 5 Tactics and Persona 3 Reload, have been confirmed for PlayStation, but others, like the Bioshock-inspired time-bending FPS Clockwork Revolution, haven’t been confirmed. If you’re hoping the next exciting FPS is coming to PlayStation, this is what you need to know.

Clockwork Revolution on PS5

While this might be a bit of a disappointment for a lot of PS5 owners, Clockwork Revolution is not coming to the PS5, and it doesn’t seem like the Bioshock-inspired shooter will ever make its way to PS5. This is because Clockwork Revolution is being developed by inXile Entertainment, the creators of games like Wasteland. They’re also owned by Microsoft, and fall under the Xbox Games Studio umbrella, which means that Clockwork Revolution is probably going to be locked to Xbox and PC platforms.

There is some hope that Clockwork Revolution could come to the PS5, as Microsoft have allowed some of their owned games to still be published and updated on “rival” hardware. Psychonauts 2, anything Minecraft related, Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo all appeared on PS5, despite Xbox owning the studios behind all of those games. The same is true the other way too, with PlayStation Studios publishing MLB The Show, a series that’s now available on pretty much every platform under the sun.

Again, this doesn’t mean that Clockwork Revolution will come to PS5, just that there’s a very small chance that it could happen. In a gaming world where cross-play has become the norm and companies are publishing their games on rival platforms, stranger things than Clockwork Revolution coming to the PS5 have happened. Just don’t pin all your hopes on it, eh?

About Clockwork Revolution

Clockwork Revolution is a new steampunk FPS game from inXile, the developers of Wasteland 3. Moving from a tactical RPG to a first person shooter might seem like a huge leap, but from the reveal trailer alone, Clockwork Revolution seems very exciting.

Set in the city of Avalon, you discover an invention that allows you to travel backwards in time. While that sounds cool, you also discover that the city of Avalon has been carefully constructed by meddling with certain historical events. With the power now in your hands to fiddle with history, you’ll be able to control the fate of Avalon, but beware, as your actions will have butterfly effect consequences on the story and characters.
