Channing Tatum Lands a Role in Tarantino’s ‘Hateful Eight’

After almost dying before it even reached the gate due to a screenplay leak back in January, Quentin Tarantino’s Hateful Eight, a story about prisoners being transported by bounty hunters in the 19th century, looks like it’s well back on track. Recently the principal cast have been appearing one-by-one, in order of significance. The titular eight are Samuel L. Jackson (what), Kurt Russel (cheating bitch), Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walter Goggins, Demian Bichir and Bruce Dern.

There’s more though, only days after news spread that Channing Tatum was interested in a role, he got one. No exact news yet on exactly who he’ll play, we know that two bounty hunters and a renegade confederate soldier play prominent roles, but in any case he’ll definitely add a dash of… Something to the proceedings. Channism? Tatumitude? Sorry.

The film is set to start shooting in 70mm in January, which is a big deal, since it will apparently have the widest 70mm release of any film that’s come out in the past 20 years. Tatum might also from the large format treatment for Magic Mike XXL. He he, I made a dick joke.  Tatum is also set to star in a standalone Gambit feature by 20th Century Fox, in order to expand their X-Men franchise and help us all forget how hard they ruined that particular character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine not so long ago.
