Chainsaw Man: Season 1

Admirers of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s gory seinen, Chainsaw Man, were excited at the announcement of its anime adaptation. Even more so after it was revealed that the Chainsaw Man anime project fell into the talented hands at Studio MAPPA.

You’ve probably heard of Studio MAPPA. They’ve been trending ever since stunningly animating Jujutsu Kaisen, another shōnen hit, as well as Attack on Titan. Now, they’ve been handed Tatsuki’s grim but appealing creation, and fans can’t fathom how amazing the anime visuals will be.

At the recent Crunchyroll Expo, Studio MAPPA aired the third trailer for Chainsaw Man, which also featured the first season’s release date. The trailer was a featurette of sorts, with animation on par with AAA movies. You’d think they couldn’t outdo themselves, but they did.

Manga readers have had their fun with Chainsaw Man. So now anime-only watchers will finally be able to delve into the rich folklore about devils, and the mysteries of a sadistic reality.

The first trailer was revealed a little over a year ago. Since then, one question keeps arising frequently. What’s the release date of Chainsaw Man: Season 1?

When is Chainsaw Man: Season 1 Coming Out?

It’s been officially revealed in the latest Chainsaw Man anime trailer that Season 1 will begin on October 11th, 2022 on Crunchyroll. Tidy up your schedule as Makima, Denji, and Power are heading your way this fall.

October was already speculated to be the Chainsaw Man anime release date. MAPPA continually reminded us that the season will air in 2022. And being this far into the year, you’d know only the Fall anime queue remained.

What’s Chainsaw Man: Season 1 About? (Spoiler Warning)

The anime is set to adapt the Public Safety Saga of the manga’s first part. You’ll witness the story of how Denji, a miserable Yakuza lackey, gets a second shot at life when he’s revived by his pet, the devil of chainsaws.

That’s not all though, Denji will soon be overwhelmed as the realities of Hell and Earth seem to merge. Eccentric characters, ultra-violent action sequences, and sinister happenings undoubtedly set up an iconic tale in Chainsaw Man.

The Public Safety Saga spans 97 chapters, but how many of them will be animated is still unknown. We speculate the first season will wrap things up with the sixth arc, International Assassins.

That’ll be a sweet place to leave fans at. Denji will have caught the eye of the world’s deadliest assassins after his clash with Reze, the Bomb Devil. Ending the first season of Chainsaw Man there will produce massive anticipation for the follow-up.

Most likely the first season will have 24 episodes, being released as two cours. This is owed to the fact that MAPPA took the same route with Jujutsu Kaisen, and Attack on Titan.
