Captain Tsubasa

Bandai Namco have revealed that Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions, the video game based on the popular anime and manga series, will launch on August 28th for PC, PS4 and the Nintendo Switch. To celebrate the news, there’s a new trailer showcasing various international teams like France, England and more. Check it out below.

Captain Tsubasa will allow players to perform gravity defying football tricks in a faithful recreation of the manga’s source material. Players will try their skills in two main story modes, one which retells certain plot points from the series, while the other lets you create your own character to join one of three prestigious football schools.

To celebrate the release date news, Bandai Namco have also revealed the special edition versions of the game, which include some excellent goodies. The pre-order edition comes with various digital items for your players to wear, while the Collector’s Edition will also include the Season Pass, a Tsubasa figure, artboard, laminated collectible cards, steelbook and embroidered badges.

Now for the big ones. The Champions Edition, which is exclusive to Bandai Namco’s E-Commerce website, includes all of the content from the Collector’s Edition, plus a customised football jersey. Meanwhile, the Legends Edition includes everything from the Champions Edition, plus a premium Captain Tsubasa football table from René Pierre, a French football table manufacturer. The Legends Edition is quite expensive, mind you. If you’re willing to fork over nearly £1800, more power to you.
