Create Your Own Character In Captain Tsubasa: Rise Of New Champions’ New Hero Mode

Who needs FIFA's Be A Pro mode?

Captain Tsubasa

If you’ve ever wanted to enter the world of anime football, or soccer if you’re that way inclined, Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions will give you that opportunity, as developers Bandai Namco have revealed the New Hero story mode, along with some new screenshots of the game.

In the Episode New Hero mode, you create a brand new character who is able join one of three middle schools, each with their own talented football team: Furano Middle School, Toho Academy and Musashi Middle School. Once you’ve made your character and picked your school, you have to defeat Tsubasa Ozora’s team, Nankatsu Middle School, before competing to join the New Hero League, which is being held to select Japan’s All-Star Team.

Throughout the mode, you’ll build friendships and develop storylines depending on which school you chose and which characters you interact with, and you may even learn that character’s skills along the way by increasing their friend rank. Basically, it sounds like Fire Emblem: Three Houses, but with more football, and we’re completely here for it. Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions will launch this year on PS4, PC and the Nintendo Switch. Are you excited to play it? Let us know in the comments.
