Capcom have stated that they will be revealing new footage and information regarding the next instalment in their iconic horror series, Resident Evil Village, at Tokyo Game Show 2020. The company have two panels at the event on Saturday September 26th and Sunday September 27th at 5am PT, 8am ET, 1pm UK. The announcement was made via the tweet below.

After being revealed back in June, Capcom originally stated that they’d have more to share in August, but it’s now September and there’s been no more news. Whether there’s been an internal delay, or Capcom just decided to hold off on revealing more about the game until their bumper showcase at TGS 2020, is unclear.

As for what Capcom have to reveal regarding Resident Evil Village, aside from an obvious new trailer and the like, rumours have surfaced, primarily from noted insider Dusk Golem, suggesting that there could be a PS5-related announcement, possibly to do with a VR version similar to RE7. A next-gen VR horror title with the level of pedigree that Capcom and Resident Evil offer would be a huge get for Sony, but we’ll have to see what the announcement is for ourselves later this month.

Resident Evil Village is set to launch in 2021 on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. Are you excited? Sound off in the comments.
